From Wild Common Mugwort to Moxa

Harvesting

Our mugwort comes from wild, respectful harvesting: no fertilizers or pesticides, growing in preserved areas recognized as 'Villages without Pesticides'. We harvest it by hand around the summer solstice, following the solar cycle and the 'leaf' days of the lunar calendar, as the ancient druids did.

Harvests are carried out with permissions from public domain management companies or agreements from private landowners.

Once cut, it is gathered into bundles and hung head down in a naturally ventilated drying room to maximize its energy.

Unlike industrial Asian methods—intensive cultivation, mechanical harvesting, no sorting, phenol treatment, and oven drying—we favor an artisanal and respectful approach.

Moxa Production

Once dried, the mugwort is gently mechanically stripped, then ground and rolled into moxa sticks in our workshop.

These rolls, called "moxas," are wrapped in thin, durable paper. The term "moxa" comes from the Japanese "moguza," meaning "prolonged fire."

The paper we use is supplied by a French eco-responsible papermaker and entirely produced in France.

Vert Nature Moxas: Low Smoke

Vert Nature moxas produce much less smoke thanks to careful sorting of the mugwort, strict selection, and natural drying.

This provides a more pleasant and environmentally friendly experience.

Handcrafted Wooden Accessories

All our wooden accessories are made in our workshops from solid beech planks, without glue or additives.

Our supplier, committed to responsible practices, provides wood mainly from French and European forests. Its durability is ensured by strict regulations and certifications guaranteeing sustainable forest management, biodiversity protection, and social functions.

Each piece reflects the quality of craftsmanship: appearance may vary, some accessories may have small imperfections, but that is precisely the charm of handmade products.
