Moxa stick burner – 1.5 cm diameter

This moxa stick burner for 1.5 cm (15 mm) diameter sticks, also known as a moxa pipe, burner or Dokuson, is handcrafted in France in our workshops from untreated beech wood. It is specifically designed for use with R1 reference moxa sticks.

This accessory is particularly useful for self-moxibustion, especially for reaching hard-to-access areas such as the back or legs, while allowing precise positioning of treatment points without risk of burns.

Technical specifications

  • Compatibility: moxa sticks with 1.5 cm (15 mm) diameter – R1 only.
  • Wood: untreated beech.
  • French artisanal manufacturing.
  • Handle length without extension: approx. 18 cm.
  • Length with extension: approx. 33 cm (± 2 cm).

Design and use

The burner is supplied in three parts. Simply screw the handle without forcing to secure the moxa stick, previously lit and inserted into the burner, without risk of damage. The extension allows adjustment of the handle length depending on the area to be treated.

During use, it is recommended to gently tap the burner on an ashtray to remove ash. If necessary, the handle can be slightly loosened to reposition the glowing tip of the moxa approximately 1 cm from the edge.

Adjustment and compatibility

This burner is designed exclusively for our 15 mm diameter moxa sticks. A slight oval shape of the sticks is normal. The handle is calibrated accordingly to securely hold the moxa when tightened to the stop, always without forcing.

Intentional absence of a protective grid

This model does not include a protective grid. Grids have several drawbacks: metal grids alter the temperature and radiation of the moxa; wooden grids have limited durability. In addition, their use requires frequent handling to remove ash, which generally leads users to abandon them.

The absence of a grid preserves the thermal qualities of the moxa and simplifies daily use.
